A sight never seen before: Russia's President Vladimir Putin surprisingly opens the doors to his previously strictly guarded Kremlin residence. In an exclusive video, he grants for the first time detailed insights into his luxuriously furnished private rooms – an unusually open move for the otherwise reserved leader.
For the recordings, Kremlin-close journalist Pavel Sarubin was granted exclusive access. As part of a new documentary, he was not only allowed to interview Putin but also accompany him through the elaborately designed apartment in the heart of Moscow. What the camera captures is an opulent setting full of sumptuous details. The furnishings are reminiscent of the era of the Tsars: gilded furniture, artistically decorated stucco ceilings and heavy, royally appearing curtains dominate the image. In one of the rooms, a white grand piano draws attention – a symbol of classic elegance and cultural ambition. Read more details about Putin's luxurious apartment here:
