A heated altercation aboard a cruise ship resulted in an unexpected interruption of a cruise that was initially planned as a relaxing short trip to the Bahamas. The colossal cruise ship had to return to its home port just two hours into the journey. Two injured individuals were admitted to the hospital.

Dispute at the children's pool escalates

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, shortly after the ship had left the port of Miami. At a children's pool, two guests initially got into a verbal argument that quickly escalated into a physical fight. Both participants suffered injuries that required medical attention. In response to the incident, the captain decided to abort the journey at around 6:40 pm for the safety of all passengers and return to Miami. The shipping company Royal Caribbean International immediately informed local authorities, including the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR), to receive support. Police and emergency services in action

At around 8:30 pm, the 362-meter long and 66-meter wide ship docked again at the pier in the port of Miami. Police officers and emergency services were on standby to clarify the situation and attend to the injured. Two individuals were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. However, the two combatants declined to file complaints against each other. A witness reported on Platform X that an additional dozen or so individuals, who were purportedly involved in the dispute, were escorted off the ship.
