When the British royal family gathers for a state visit, tradition and etiquette usually take center stage. However, during the visit of Donald Trump and his wife Melania on 17th September 2025, there was a scene that surprised even the most ardent royal fans: Queen Camilla appeared to lose her patience - and that specifically towards her daughter-in-law, Princess Kate.

The plan for the day was clear: the US President and the First Lady would arrive by helicopter in Windsor, where they would be welcomed by Princess Kate and Prince William, and then escorted to the royal couple. A carriage ride through the Windsor Castle park was next on the agenda. While preparations were underway, the royals and the Presidential couple used the time for small talk in the open air. The queen consort seemed concerned that the tight schedule would not be adhered to.
