At merely twelve years old, Prince George carries a responsibility that goes far beyond what other children his age experience. As the eldest son of Prince William (43) and Princess Kate (43), he is already in the public eye - and he knows full well that one day, the crown of England will rest on his shoulders. But how does the young prince truly handle this enormous expectation? Isn't this burden too heavy for a child?

A Serious Gaze and Clenched Fists: Signs of the Burden?

In the rare moments when Prince George appears in public, his serious facial expression stands out. His head slightly lowered, his hands balled into tiny fists - he seems less like a child and more like a small adult. Dressed in a suit, shirt, and tie, with shiningly polished leather shoes, he accompanies his parents to official appointments. These appearances are not a game, but part of his future - a future that leaves him no choice. Spanish child psychologist Diana Jiménez warns of the consequences of this premature "maturity": "Children must not forget that they are children. They need space to play, make mistakes, laugh, and express their fears." For Prince George, however, this "normal" life is often hard to access. Between protocol, duties, and life in the palace, there is little room for childlike freedom.

Puberty Meets Royal Duties

George is in the midst of puberty, a challenging phase of life in itself. However, for the young prince, his mother's cancer diagnosis has also left deep marks. "At twelve years old, he is still close to childhood," explains Diana Jiménez. "It's important that his parents don't rush anything and give him time to go through all the stages calmly."
