Tennis legend Björn Borg has spoken about his prostate cancer diagnosis in an emotional interview on the British show BBC Breakfast. The eleven-time Grand Slam winner revealed that the news from his doctor was anything but positive: "The doctor told me that it looks very, very bad," Borg explained. "I have dormant cancer cells in my body, and it will continue to be a battle in the future.”

A Life of Regular Check-ups

Borg must undergo an examination every six months to monitor the progression of the disease. The last examination took place just two weeks ago. "That's something I have to live with," said the former tennis star. Although he is currently in remission, he admitted that the diagnosis was a major psychological challenge for him. Borg disclosed the news about his health in his autobiography, Heartbeats, which is due to be published on September 19, 2025. In it, he not only talks about his illness but also about the operation he underwent last year. "I take life day by day, year by year," Borg continued.
