A drone attack by Ukraine on the annexed Black Sea peninsula of Crimea has claimed at least three lives and injured 16 others, according to Russian reports.

Ukraine Executes Successful Drone Attack

The Moscow-appointed governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, stated that the resort town of Foros was the target of the attack. A luxury sanatorium and a school building were damaged there. Debris from a downed drone also caused a fire near the coastal city of Yalta. The Russian Defense Ministry labeled the attack as a "terrorist act." An air raid alarm was also sounded over the port city of Sevastopol. According to the state Russian news agency Tass, Russian air defenses shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles there. Resort of Political Elite Targeted

According to Ukrainian media, the attack was specifically aimed at the Foros Sanatorium, an exclusive luxury resort. In the immediate vicinity are several state holiday facilities, which according to reports are used by Russia's political elite. The Ukrainian Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported that "very important guests" were supposedly staying at the resort at the time of the attack. However, these reports could not be independently confirmed.
