The "uns" newspaper reports that this money was supposed to have been used for "German Winter Aid". This secret fund is said to have been personally managed by bank president Ludwig Freude, a German-Argentinian businessman and staunch National Socialist. But not all the money went to the Hitler party. A large portion of the assets ended up in an account at the Swiss Credit Institution (SKA), which became Credit Suisse in 1997. So far, Credit Suisse has refused to disclose information about the whereabouts of the money, according to the attorneys of the Wiesenthal Foundation. A court order would be required to gain access to the information. Therefore, lawyers from Washington, Buenos Aires, Berlin, and Zurich are now trying to obtain such an order. "If the account was managed under the name of a company and not under the name Ludwig Freude, then it is almost impossible to identify the account," the lawyers are certain.
