Another highlight is on the horizon for the wedding calendar of European royals. A festive event could be taking place around King Felipe VI. in the summer of 2026 - but, Letizia is off the hook? What are the details?
As reported by the Spanish news portal "Vanitatis", Isabel of Habsburg-Lorraine (28) plans to marry her great love Carlos Gaytán de Ayala (32) on 25 July 2026. The celebration is slated to take place towards the end of July and could lead the Spanish royal family to the vicinity of Madrid.
Isabel is maternally related to the Spanish Royals. Her grandfather Carlos of Bourbon-Sicily (†77) was a first cousin of former King Juan Carlos I, and the two were considered to be particularly close throughout their lives. This means that while Isabel is not part of the innermost circle, she is clearly part of the extended royal family network.
