Stenhammar Castle, located about 150 kilometers southwest of Stockholm in the municipality of Flen, serves as a retreat for Queen Silvia and her husband, particularly during the summer months. This is why the break-ins are deemed particularly sensitive. The local newspaper "Katrineholms Kuriren" was the first to report on the incidents.
According to the newspaper, both break-ins happened last week. Initially, the perpetrators gained access to the castle's staff room and stole a set of keys. Two days later, they returned and used the stolen key to steal a truck from the premises.
