The police were alerted at the latest after the theft of the vehicle. Officers pursued the truck, stopped it, and apprehended the perpetrators. Surprisingly, the burglars were not adults, but two 15-year-old teenagers who, according to reports, are believed to be responsible for both crimes.
The castle's operations manager, Per Rudengren, downplayed the incidents. He spoke of a sad event and expressed hope that the teenagers will receive help - possibly through social services. In his view, this was more of a prank that could potentially become problematic in the long run.
The court has so far remained silent.
What happens next for the two young offenders is not yet known. An official statement from the Swedish royal house on the break-ins is still pending.
