Stroke of Fate Shocks Dutch Royal Court!

Deep mourning prevails at the Dutch Royal Court, as Princess Mabel has lost her sister Nicoline Wisse Smit. The sad news has now been announced. In addition to her sister, she leaves behind her 23-year-old daughter Lotte and her partner Robert Jan Galema. In November 2022, Nicoline Wisse Smit made her cancer diagnosis public. She was open about her diagnosis and started a blog in which she wrote about her experiences with radiation, chemotherapy, and books about cancer. Nicoline felt: "The diagnosis 'metastatic cancer' caused quite a stir and still does (quite often)" and further remarked: "An us that does not match the reality I have experienced. I only discovered that too late. And so there I lay, who describes herself as a medically brave person, scared on the radiation table at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital."
