The situation has clear roots in past controversy. The former prince stepped back from official duties in 2019 after his connection to Jeffrey Epstein came to light and following a civil claim brought by Virginia Giuffre in the United States. He denies the allegations; a settlement was reached in 2022. According to reports, King Charles regarded Andrew’s withdrawal as a necessary consequence, and he has since been stripped of his royal duties and patronages.

Mysterious Night Move

Andrew allegedly left the Royal Lodge in Windsor under cover of darkness, moving first to Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate amid fresh revelations related to Epstein. From April, a further relocation is said to be planned to the neighbouring Marsh Farm, which is currently undergoing renovations.
