Lewandowski grew up in a low-income household in Lowell, Massachusetts. He attended the Naval War College, earned a bachelor’s in political science from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s from American University in Washington, D.C.
At 21 he ran for a Massachusetts House seat in 1994, lost and mounted a legal challenge. He later worked for Americans for Prosperity, held roles with members of Congress and served in the Republican National Committee’s Northeast operations.
