Rather than attend the draft in Pittsburgh, Mendoza said he’ll watch at home with his parents so his mother, who has multiple sclerosis, can share the moment. He told Rich Eisen he wanted to celebrate with all who supported his journey, not just a small group at the event.
Mendoza works with the National MS Society on behalf of his mom and calls her optimism a guiding force. The NFL draft runs April 23–25 in Pittsburgh, and Mendoza’s path remains one of the draft’s most watched stories.
