A heartbreaking incident has struck the western coast of Tenerife, one of the beautiful Canary Islands. In the popular area of Los Gigantes, a gigantic wave swept four individuals into the ocean, leading to devastating fatalities. Sadly, another person remains unaccounted for. Initially, authorities had reported three casualties in this tragic event.

Details of the Incident

The calamity occurred shortly after 4 PM at one of Los Gigantes' renowned natural pools. At that moment, many visitors were enjoying the scenic beauty, both on the rocks and in the water. Without warning, a tremendous wave surged in, sweeping people away with its overwhelming force.

According to emergency services in the Canary Islands, several individuals were caught in the tumultuous waters. Reports indicate that foreign tourists were among those affected. A search and rescue helicopter managed to rescue one person alive but tragically recovered another only to find that they had already succumbed.

Confirmed Death Toll

Latest updates confirm that initially, two men and a woman lost their lives—one of the men was 35 years old, while the woman was 55. A fourth victim was later revived and transported to a hospital, where unfortunately, she later passed away due to her injuries. At this time, it has not been confirmed if any victims are of German nationality.
