He wrote Coloring Book at 23 just after becoming a father and now hears the songs differently. He shares daughters Kensli, 10, and Marli, 7, with ex-wife Kirsten Corley and recently returned from a trip to Kenya with them.
In the Coloring Book year he launched SocialWorks, which has reached over 50,000 Chicago students and given $12 million, per the organization. Looking ahead, he hopes to play the Super Bowl, learn instruments like guitar and piano, and tour Africa — while staying proudest of simply showing up as himself.
