In the season 5 finale, Rafe flees Kildare with Sofia to avoid charges in the death of Sheriff Peterkin. He shares a heartbreaking goodbye with his sister Sarah, saying, "I’m sorry for everything that happened. I really am," and admitting, "But I don’t think I’m gonna be able to come back here again, so I’m not gonna be able to see your baby." Both Drew Starkey (32) and Madelyn Cline (28) were visibly emotional as the scene played out.
